Amazon.com Review Structured to fit any free-arm sewing machine and most sergers, this Brother universal carrying case offers protection and easy transport for home sewing appliances. The two-part case is formed from durable hard plastic that is strong but lightweight, and the molded form adds extra protection. Hinged metal locks close the lid securely, and a built-in handle makes carrying easy. Great for taking sewing machines on the road or safe-keeping them when they are not in use, the case is made in the USA and measures 18 by 11-1/2 by 14 inches. --Emily Bedard
Product Description The 5300 is a universal carrying case to store most free arm sewing machine models or sergers. It is a hard cover case which gives great protection for your machine and helps to keep it clean when not in use.

A Larger Multi-Purpose Case January 15, 2007 So.Cal. Sewist -- (So. Calif.) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
I have 4 of these cases. I like them because they are indeed larger and have extra 'nooks' for putting the extra accessories, foot pedal, manuals, extra books, material and sometimes a small sewing kit for when I take it to class.
The size is OK for my smaller White 2000 serger and lots of sewing accessories and material; also good for my Elna 744 serger (larger machine) with pedal and extra feet and manuals. If all you want is something just your machine's size, then better get the smaller Singer sewing case. Do some measuring to be sure. This case is for stand alone machine heads and not the type that needs to be attached with the 2 hinge pegs (for flatbed). I'm very happy with these cases for the above reasons.
Good but too big for my sewing machine November 1, 2008 L. Porcella (Dominican Republic) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I think they should have 2 universal sewing cases. 1 For big machines, 1 for small ones. I just bought a small sewing machine and also bought this case. It's good quality, and highly recommend it to protect your machine, but this one it's too big for my machine.
But anyway I can recommend this product, it's good quality and will help you protect your machine.
Nice case September 2, 2007 Lisa A. Cramer (Hanover, PA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a great case! There's extra room to put supplies in there as well as keeping my machine dust free....and it was a great price! Thanks Amazon!
Plenty of extra room for supplies and unfinished projects January 6, 2010 E. Thayer (Mishawaka, IN USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I recently purchased this carrier to accompany my daughter's Brother LS2125I 10-Stitch Free-Arm Sewing Machine. That is a large machine, as sewing machines go. This carrier easily holds it, plus the cords and foot pedal, plus a project book, a couple yards of fabric, and a few small tools such as your pincushion, seam rippers, thread snips and/or shears. This is great if you take the case to class with you, or if you want to store your current project with your sewing machine. For us, it functions like a little self contained sewing center. Want to sew? Everything is in one spot. Need to reclaim your desk or table? Everything goes back in the case. Works very well for that type of in-between-sessions storage.
This is not so good, however, if you are looking for something very compact, or if you want your machine to fit snugly in the case, to prevent knocking about. The case itself is lightweight and sturdy, but once packed full, can be quite heavy. It also easily takes up twice as much room as a large sewing machine. If all you need is sturdy storage for your sewing machine, you can get by with a much smaller case. This particular case measures 12x14x18 inches. My Brother 10-Stitch measures 6x13x15 inches (with the thread spool in the retracted position,) which means that the case more than doubles the volume needed for storing my machine.
All in all, I was pleased with the purchase, since my main objective was to keep things clean, together and undamaged in between sewing sessions on the dining room table. It does that quite well. However if I was going to travel with my machine, I would recommend 1) a smaller case and a lightweight machine, and 2) carrying your other supplies in a separate totebag, so you don't have a big 25 pound package to lug around.
Lastly, shop around for price. I was disappointed when the price on this case dropped by five dollars the week after I purchased it. I paid $30, and it was worth it for us to have it here for Christmas, but $25 or $20 (which is the cost of a generic case at a bigbox store) would have been better. Why pay more than you have to?

This is a great case. My machine fits perfectly and there is some extra room for thread and a small amount of fabric. The folks that shipped it even included a personal note of appreciation! Thanks.
